AEC Year in Review

As the AEC Team wraps up 2016, we wanted to extend a heartfelt thanks to our customers and partners for their dedication and support over the years in allowing us to grow and achieve much success this year. Here is a peak at our year in review that our customers and partners helped us achieve.

Due to our ongoing investment in Continuous Improvement, it has helped enable us to keep costs low for our customers and contributed to our ever-improving quality. Therefore, the AEC team was able to accomplish many continuous improvements this year to include but not limited to the following:

  • Developed a tool to facilitate collaboration and make our quoting process more accurate.
  • Began a robust, targeted coaching program to develop Lean Improvement Kata learners and coaches.
  • Implemented monthly KPI reviews including new metrics.
  • Achieved visual management of company and team strategy deployment.
  • Employee development by focusing on cross training and flexibility.
  • Implemented new Performance Management system.
  • Developed new departmental efficiency and quality metrics.
  • Project improvements:
    • Single piece flow
    • Co-located project team
    • Risk register developed and monitored for key projects.

As we continue to support and grow with the future of the S1000D industry standard, we had a lot of success in supporting multiple aircraft technical documentation for the 737 BBJ, 787, A319 and A350 Aircraft.

We would also like to take a moment to welcome back Jet Aviation Basel into the AEC Family. We are excited to start working with their team again and we are looking forward to a long relationship.

With the launch of our Joint Venture Company OneStrand this past January, the combined AEC and ADG teams are committed to building a solid foundation in order to provide exceptional quality products and services to our customers, partners and local communities.

Not only do we believe that serving our customers technically is very important to us and to their end customers, we also believe that it is just as important of a commitment to give back to the local communities we service by donating our time, knowledge, and experience to socially responsible tasks. This year we had the amazing opportunity in Costa Rica to go to a local primary school and paint several of the classrooms; it was a true honor for us to be a part of their local community. As we continue to build upon our footprint in Costa Rica, we also expanded our Costa Rica facility and we continue working on building multi-functional teams.

As we move forward into the New Year, we welcome everyone to follow us as we continue to provide the latest news, training schedules, insights, and opportunities from the OneStrand Team.
